     Have you ever looked adversity in the eye, and then smiled at?  Or have you ever felt a tremendous pain somewhere in your body and ignored it? As human beings, resources  you naturally possess  to develop your potentials or overcome a challenging situation are countless. The key question is whether  you accurately identify these innate powers and apply them to your own benefits. One of these overwhelming resources is called : resilience. What is it exactly and how should you eventually take advantage of it?

     Resilience is defined as the capacity to quickly recover from difficulties and the ability to bounce back. It is also defined as the ability to withstand and face hardships. In fact, a person who is resilient is flexible and has the capacity to adapt to changes.

     Furthermore, no matter how many times you fall, resilience helps you catch up the energy to stand and move on. Failure is part of the game , so you accept it while meditating on the lesson in order not to make the same mistakes over and over again. Keep the balance in everything to avoid putting your foot in ! Also it is worth being honest and showing great critical thinking skills, which will help you sort out entangled situations quickly.

     Life is not a straight line; it has peaks and valleys. Therefore, you should always expect hardships. Anyway, exert yourself to show resilience !

            We are all amazed at the beauty of a green field, a snake-shape river  gracefully flowing to its destination. We are all blown away by a picturesque sunset of the Caribbean islands. 

               No wonder, thousands of tourists  every year invade our facilities either for fun or for hibernation sake. Who doesn't      welcome  an fascinating excursion to enjoy the wonders of these exotic places around here, which can't be seen anywhere else? Nobody in his or her right mind will turn down an all-inclusive package with airfare to the Caribbean islands such as Cuba, Bahamas, Virgin islands, or Hispaniola.                             Sleeping in a bungalow, rafting the rivers,, ridding horses, visiting the colonial zones, going hiking, sunbathing by the white-sand beaches are among the the most stunning and relaxing activities down here, which no doubt will make them want to come back.  We all deserve a getaway alone or with family members  in such unforgettable lovely place in which our mind, body, and soul feel the breeze of freedom and happiness.

               Once upon a time, a picturesque island in the middle of the Caribbean appropriately named Quisqueya by the Tainos, the natives of the island ; however, later erroneously baptized"Hispagnola" by the Spanish conquerors . Most of the historians unanimously described the island as paradise on earth because  Its rain forests , its landscapes, its beaches, and its biodiversity stuck out the overwhelming beauty of the island.  

            The pacific population who dwelt and enjoyed life on the island never got bored of the sunrise, which every single dawn highlighted the golden rays of the Sun wishing each inhabitant a wonderful day. They usually fished, hunted, and grew crop in their gardens. Each tribe dedicated time and energy in some dynamic segments of productivity of which they traded or just shared. Everything was well-organized. The Tainos were known to be friendly. Everyone respected each other, which promoted peace.

            The system of goverment they used functioned perfectly. The tribes were divided in caciquats  : Marien, Xaragua, Maguana, Magua, and Hyguey. Each cacique was a leader or king. And some of the most well-known Caciques were ; Caonabo , Guacanagaric, Guarionex, Cotubanama, Bohechio, to mention a few.   Caonabo's wife was that famous queen named Anacaona. Caonabo  had a lovely daughter called Mencia, who was the apple of his eye.

           Therefore, life was worth living in such exuberant, healthy green foliage and vegetation, including so many attractions, places to visit, and rivers to swim or dive in. No wonder Quisqueya was considered the ' gem ' of the Caribbean .

Easthetic and elegance go along with fitness, as well as chic and fashion go with style today. As a matter of fact, we should  admit that our day-to-day lifestyle is far cry from 20 years ago in many aspects.

Gyms with the latest cry equipment have been offering a High quality service to the community to help us keep up with the challenge of being fit. In some countries such as United States, France, Germany, and Switzerland  people consider eating healthily and doing exercice, on a regular basis, as sacred to follow like a ritual; It seems like everyone has just gotten a wake-up call, which no doubt raises eyebrow.

     The shelves of the supermarkets exhibit a great veriety of low-fat products, nuts, and carbohydrates more than ever before. Many more people cut down on foods like red meat, pasta or flour. Some reduce the consumption of café, soda, sugar, and cow milk. In return, fruit and vegetables are on the top of their grocery list. 

Nutritionists have a more predominant role in our society today . More and more  patients appear on their agenda . Parents take their obese children to the clínic in order to avoid a heart attack or a lethal vascular inccident due to a high level of cholesterol. Prevention Is better than cure, they claimed "loud and clear". According to experts, most of the diseases or ailments we suffer now, such as diabetes, hypertension, hypotension, backache, migrane, and insomnia, to mention only a few, point to a certain level of tress people have unconsciously been through at schools, colleges or at work.

    The things is, our level of stress today  increases exponentially due to some factors, which by default are part of our modern society trends : The traffic jam, the rat race, the unfair competition in a work place , the endless struggle of keeping up with the Joneses, bullying in the schools, irrational amount of homework from teachers, are some of the factors that usually generate   stress in our everyday lives. Stress behaves exactly like fire ; both serve us faithfully and generously whenever we keep them undercontrol ; however, both might be fatal for mankind when they are out of control.

How can we reduce our stress? We are sometimes the auther of our own misfortune. What's the point of checking the time over and over when you get stuck in a traffic jam? It's a fact of life and there's nothing you can do about it.By checking your watch every second, you're hurting yourself managing unnecessary pressure, flogging a dead horse. The best attitude Is to let it go and relax. Take the appropriate course of actions: Call the office to notify your delay. Think about a good strategy to compensate it.

   In conclusion, a good diet goes hand in hand with regular physical exercice. More importantly, it requires discipline, perseverance, and a positive attitude to get and remain fit.

    I have been teaching English for more than two decades. I have always tried to come up with creative concepts, methods, approaches, and useful information to inspire my students. That is the reason why I have decided to launch a series of short stories whose objectives are to show models that prevail and outstanding "gemstones" for Plurivision's readers.

 Ben Francis, as a visionary, might be an efficient catalyser to get young people out of the comfort zone and take decisive actions that will determine how risk takers they are.

False Cognates/ False friends

     By definition, cognates are words having the same languistic ancestral. Cognates can be very helpful while learning a foreign language.

Nevertheless, you should be aware of a tricky issue you will have to face on the way. we call it : " False cognate ".

Everyone is eager to grab an interesting book and look forward to reaching the climax because we are eager to learn more and more and more. Reading is fun.
    I always believe there is nothing more ambrosial than reading a great book, whether you are lying down or sitting down or whatever the position you feel loose-fitting in. It is like... a delectable cup of coffee in a harsh winter of Norway.
     Depending your interests, your lifestyle , your career, etc. the concept of good books may vary from a person to another. However, they all have something  in common: they are both fun and informative, which makes so enjoyable that one cannot drop them for a second.

     The screen of your Cellphone might turn out to be a tremendous vector of the worst bacteria ever.
It Is considered the most useful and practical gadget of the Century. No wonder why 31% of Americans would feel anxiety when separated from their cellphones . As a matter of fact , by the end of 2019 the number of mobile users Is forecast to reach 4.68 billion. These are the number of people at risk of being contaminated by the bacteria above mentioned. It Is not a secret that mobile users usually carry their cellphones in the bathroom where the bacteria live, grow, develop, and spread.
The Most common types of these bacteria, found in any bathroom,  are : E, coli, Salmonella, Bacteroidaceae, or bacteria from the poo, and streptococcus.

Whenever you carry your phone to the bathroom, you expose yourself to catch one of these bacteria through touching your mobile screen without washing your hands with soap and water.

Lack of insight

 Most people show a tremendous lack of insight today whenever a tragedy strikes or they witness an accident, a fight, or any tragic scenes. Some people get numb because of overwhelming emotions, which we can obviously figure out. Some people Will automatically pick up their phones and ask for immediate help. However, the great majority eye-witnesses today react diffrently.  Their first reaction is to upload a live video instead of rescueing lives or call 911. Everyone becomes a potencial paparazzi longing for "the Scoop of the year".
