LATERAL THINKING, PARADIGM, AND CRITICAL THINKING

                                                ENGLISH CORNER

For a better understanding of some technical terms, today this section which is dedicated to all those who eagerly want to enhance their English by adding up something new every single day is all yours.

1- Paradigm : It comes from the Greek ¨paradeigma¨  pattern, example,or sample. By definition, ¨paradigm¨ is a particular  way of doing something or thinking about something which is generally accepted / copied . It also refers to a very clear example of doing something. Paradigm is a pattern  or the model to follow. Finally, paradigm refers to a class of  elements with similarities : child, children, childhood, child´s, children´s, or childish.

2- Critical Thinking :  It refers to the ability to apply reasoning and logic to unfamiliar ideas, opinions, and situations. It also refers to see things in an open-minded way.Critical thinking allows a person not only to seek all possible answers but also to accept an answer that is different from what was originally thought or conventionally accepted by the peopleBeing able to think critically is vital. Critical thinking leads to the ability to understand the world in a way that isn´t  focus on self. It teaches students that knowledge is gain and then re-gained as new information becomes available¨.

3- Lateral Thinking : Sometimes called ¨thinking outside the box or thinking outside the square¨ refers to the ability to think differently, unconventionally, or from a new perspective. To look further and try not thinking of the obvious things, but to think beyond them in order to come with new and creative ideas to solve a specific problem.

Thanks for visiting us. I do hope this little piece of information might be of some help in your quest for knowledge. My regards to the students of English Immersion Program, Progressive English Services (PES), College St Pierre(CSP), and Christ the King Secretarial School(CKSS).
